Review: Jeffree Star Androgyny Eyeshadow Palette

The Jeffree Star Androgyny Eyeshadow Palette (£39.14 for 10 x 2.52 g) is the second eyeshadow palette that the youtuber Jeffree Star has brought out with his brand Jeffree Star Cosmetics. In his launch video on his youtube channel, and on his website, he tells that this palette, the Androgyny Palette, is his version of a neutral eyeshadow palette.

On his website he state that the eyeshadow
comes in two finishes; matte and metallic
got extreme pigment

They don’t really state anything about their texture or their blend ability, so you can’t really assume anything there. But if you watch Jeffree Star on Youtube then you know how he like his makeup and that alone gives you high expectations. As they stated, the eyeshadow comes in a matte and metallic finish Two of the shadows got metallic finish (Frosting and Déjá Vu) and the rest eight shadows are matte. For me is it a big plus that 8 out of 10 shadows are matte as I feel you can create more eyeshadow looks if you got more matte than metallics or just shimmery shades in general. All of the shadows (both metallic and matte) have a high amount of pigment! Even though the metallics also are very pigmented by them self I always wet my brush with some setting spray (I use the setting spray from Gerard Cosmetics) and then apply it to my eyes. Wetting the brush before dipping into the palette just makes the metallic shadows even more metallic so they almost looks foiled.

As I expected, the shadows blend like a dream and the shadows blend together beautifully. I don’t get any fall out with the matte shadows but I do get some – which is to be expected – with the metallic shadows.

I really don’t have anything negative to say about this palette. I really enjoy the shadows as they are extremely pigmented, super blendable plus you get a lot of product for a really low cost! I will award this palette 5 hearts out of 5 possible!

I would definitely buy this palette again and would strongly recommend it to anyone asking about it! If you want a neutral eyeshadow palette with a pop of colour then this is the one for you! Have you tried the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Androgyny Eyeshadow Palette? If you have, then let me know your opinion in the comments!

In the pictures below I have made some swatches. The first swatch of the shadow (the one closest to my hand) is a finger swatch while the next swatch of the shadow (the swatch next to the finger swatch) is a brush swatch which is made with my large shader 209 brush from Luxie Beauty. Both the finger swatch and brush swatch is only one swipe. There is no primer or anything on my arm.
