The High-Adherence Silicone Primer from The Ordinary (£3.90 for 30 mL) is one of the two primers the brand The Ordinary offers right now. The other primer they offer is the High-Spreadability Fluid Primer which I reviewed right here.
On their website they state that the primer
– act as a matte, hydrating, blurring primer for makeup that looks higher in definition and adheres for longer
– can be used alone as a non-greasy hydrator that reduces the looks of pores and of imperfections
– is alcohol-free, oil-free, nut-free, cruelty-free, and vegan
After trying out the High-Spreadability Fluid Primer I could not wait to try their other primer! The primer looks good on the face and does mattify and blur your skin a bit. I don’t think it reduces the look of pores and imperfections at all if you just want to wear it by itself. I don’t see that big of a difference on my makeup when I wear this primer underneath. I don’t see that my foundation stays on any longer or looks prettier. I don’t feel like this primer does anything really, my face does not look any different from when I am not wearing a primer. So I was a bit disappointed since the High-Spreadability Fluid Primer is my favourite primer!
I don’t think this primer lives up to many of the statements other than it is a bit matte and blurring, which is why I only award this primer 0.5 hearts out of 5 possible.
I think there are better options out there if you are looking for a mattifying and blurring primer as well if you are looking for a primer that makes your foundation stay on longer. This product might work for you but it didn’t do anything for my skin. Beware that my skin is normal. I would not repurchase this primer.
