Review: ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick

Review: ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick

The ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick (£4.5 for 3.2 g) is the creme liquid lipstick the brand offers. So this lipstick will not dry down matte like a matte liquid lipstick but stay creamy. The brand also offers Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks and Ultra Blotted Liquid Lipsticks in their “Liquid Lipstick” category. I own the satin liquid lipstick in the shades Baracuda and Jiffy which is a collaboration with Amanda Steele, so it is no longer available on their website.

On their website, they state that the lipstick
is highly pigmented
is a creamy, bold lipstick with a satin finish
 is super long-wearing
is not completely kiss-proof and does transfer

The lipsticks are so pigmented that they will cover your lip colour with the first swipe. They will stay creamy on your lips but compared to how wet they are when you first apply them, they do dry down a bit. Even though it is a creamy liquid lipstick, they do stay for a good amount of time on your lips but this does depend on if and how you eat or drink. As they also state, this formula is not kiss- or transfer-proof but it does take some time before you will need to reapply. ColourPop is an affordable brand so of course, the packaging is a bit cheap if it has to be affordable. As you can tell on the packaging of Baracuda, almost all the writing on the tube is gone even though I have only used it 2-3 times. I noticed that the two liquid lipsticks I own have different doe foot applicators where the one on Baracuda is more fluffy than the one on Jiffy. I personally prefer a less fluffy applicator like the one on Jiffy.

I will award this liquid lipstick 4.5 hearts out of five possible!

I really enjoy the formula of these liquid lipsticks and I love how long they last on the lips even though they have a satin and very comfortable finish. The only reason I don’t award the liquid lipstick the full five hearts is because the writing goes off so easy and so fast. I don’t see any writing missing on the other shade, Jiffy, so it is possible for them to make it stay. Have you tried the Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks from ColourPop Cosmetics? If you have, then let me know your opinion in the comments!
