TUTORIAL: VALENTINE’S DAY DANGLING HEART EYELINER

TUTORIAL: VALENTINE’S DAY DANGLING HEART EYELINER

Valentine’s Day is near us so I wanted to create some makeup looks to inspire you for your own makeup look for Valentine’s Day! This will be the first look out of three. I have here created a red/pink crease, applied a winged eyeliner and added a dangling heart to the wing. This look might take practice, especially if you have shaky hands like me. But as long as you have patience when doing this kind of look, then I am sure you will be able to pull it off! If you are interested in learning how I created this look, then keep on reading!

I started this look off by priming my eyelids with the MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Paint Pot in the shade Soft Ochre and setting it with translucent powder. For eyeshadow, I used the Modern Renaissance Palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills (*). I layed down the shadow Red Ochre from the palette in my crease with the Pointed Blender Brush from Coastal Scents and blended out the edges of it with the Crease Blender Brush from Coastal Scents by dipping it into the shadow Buon Fresco and using circular motions along the edges of the Red Ochre shadow. I did not want to create a cut crease as I wanted the focus to be on the dangling heart, so all I did afterwards was to apply the shadow Tempera all over my lid with the Luxie 209 Large Shader Brush.

Then, I drew my winged eyeliner with the NYX Cosmetics Matte Liquid Liner (*) and made sure it was long so there would be space enough for the heart. If you are seeking a tutorial on how to master the winged eyeliner, then I have one for you right HERE! The next step is the heart which I used the NYX Cosmetics Vivid Brights Eyeliner (*) in Fire for. The eyeliner did crack a bit, so if you have another red/pink liquid eyeliner or are interested in buying one, then I don’t think I would suggest this one if you want it to be flawless. You could not see the cracks of it from far away, but up close you can. When drawing the heart, start by imaging how you want it to look and try to draw it in the air so you can get a hang of it. When you feel you are ready, then just jump into it! And as I mentioned before, I would suggest to try it once or twice before the real deal. Especially if you have shaky hands 😉

Now, finish up your makeup! For my brows, I used the NYX Cosmetics Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade (*) in Blonde and used the NYX Cosmetics Control Freak Eyebrow Gel to keep them in place. For my lashes, I started by curling them with the Eylure Heated Eyelash Curler and then I applied the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara and applied some Eylure Pro-Lash Individual Lashes. For highlight, I used the pink shade from the Makeup Revolution Highlighter Palette and for gloss, I used the Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in Diorama.

I hope this makeup look was inspirational! I can’t wait to share the other ones with you! Let me know what you are planning to do on Valentine’s Day! Here in Denmark Valentine’s Day is not something big, but my boyfriend and I are going out for brunch.

  1. That is the perfect eyeliner application. I haven’t mastered it yet. My hand is not steady enough, but I suppose practice makes perfect. Thanks for the tutorials and keep up the great work!
