Yay! The calendar now officially says “summer” so I want to create some summery looks for you! I chose to name this first look “Tropical Eyes” as I was inspired by what I thought of as tropical colours and the popular Hawaiian flower; plumeria kauai. If you are in doubt of what flower that is, then Snapchat actually have a filter with it where it is put in your hair just over your ear (I have also included a photo of it in the collage tutorial below 😉 ). If you are interested in learning how I created this look, then please keep reading.
Oh my God… The top of the collage tutorial makes me want to go to Hawaii and lay on a beach with a cool drink… Well, let’s get into the tutorial and stop fantasising hahahaha. I started off by priming my eyes with the MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Paint Pot in the shade Soft Ochre and used a translucent powder to set it. The first shadow I applied was Bright Yellow from Coastal Scents with the Pointed Blender Brush from Coastal Scents. I did not blend the shadow at first, I just packed on the shadow until it had the intensity I wanted and then I blended it out with a clean Crease Blender Brush from Coastal Scents. I then went in with some of the yellow shadow again and blended out the edges again. I kept doing this until I was happy with the way it looked. I then went into the shadow Cantaloupe Slice from Coastal Scents with the Pointed Blender Brush, I blended it out with the same Crease Blender Brush but I did not blend it as high as the first yellow shadow. I then applied some of the shadow Orange Crush from Coastal Scents with the Pointed Blender Brush again and used the Crease Blender Brush to blend it out. I applied Orange Crush to both my crease and on the outer part of my lid.
The next step is to cut the crease. For this, I used the Dermacol Foundation and the Small Foundation Concealer Brush from Coastal Scents. Afterwards, I used a translucent powder to set the foundation. I then used the Smudge Brush from Real Techniques to apply the shadow Aurora Orange from Coastal Scents on top of the half cut crease. I used the Pointed Blender Brush and a bit of Orange Crush to make the edge of Aurora Orange blend nicely into the outer part of the lid.
I then used the NYX Cosmetics Vivid Brights Eyeliner in Envy (*) to apply a winged eyeliner. For the yellow eyeliner on my waterline, I mixed some of the Bright Yellow shadow and a bit of white eyeshadow (White Snow from Coastal Scents) together with two drops of the Inglot Duraline. I applied the mixture with the Smudge Brush and used some translucent powder to set it even though the Duraline dries down but I just wanted to help the process a bit so I didn’t get it into my eye. To finish up the lower lashline, I applied some of the Bright Yellow shadow with the Pointed Blender Brush.
Now on to my favourite part of this look: the flowers! I started out by drawing the petals of the flowers with the NYX Cosmetics White Liquid Liner (*) and then used the NYX Cosmetics Vivid Brights Eyeliner in Halo in the middle of the flower. To finish up this look I curled my lashes with the Eylure Heated Eyelash Curler (*) and applied the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (*). I hope you enjoyed this tropical look and that I made you want to join me on a vacation to Hawaii, hahahaha. Let me know in the comments if you are going on any tropical vacation this summer! I am just staying in Denmark during this summer. Thank you so much for reading, I hope to see you back soon! xx
