The Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer (*) (£4 for 4 g) is the concealer that everyone has been talking about lately, which is why I needed to try it! On the brand’s own website, (*), the concealer has received 4.7 stars out of 5 on average, which is really good! They also state that the concealer is the winner of the Cosmopolitan Beauty Award 2018. All of these things really gets my hope up for this concealer! So let’s get down to business and take a look at what they state this concealer will do:

  • The formula is lightweight with full coverage
  • Cover blemishes
  • Even skin tone
  • Counteract dark circles
  • Has a matte finish
  • Won’t settle or accentuate fine lines and pores
  • Long wearing

Who wouldn’t want all of this in their concealer?! To show you how the concealer performs, I have made a small wear test for you. This is my first time doing a wear test for a concealer, so when I took the picture of my eyes after 8 hours of wear, I realised that I maybe should have taken a picture at around 4 hours of wear. I instead took a picture the day after wearing the same concealer applied with the same technique at 4 hours of wear. The quality is crab, to say the least, as it is taken with my iPhone in very bad lighting as I wasn’t home the entire day. I hope you can bear with me! But let’s take a look at the wear test:

The first photo in the wear test is me only with foundation on. I never put foundation on my eyes as I don’t want that many layers on my skin. The second photo is right after I have blended out the concealer (*) with my beautyblender. The photo after that is after I have baked the concealer with translucent loose powder. I always bake my concealer. I actually bake my entire face. The reason why I always bake my under eyes is that I have some deep creases below my eyes. I have had them for as long as I can remember! If I don’t bake, then my concealer looks awful and will sink into my creases straight away! The fourth photo is right after I finished my eye makeup. The fifth photo is a flash test. I think it is safe to say that this concealer definitely passed it! I then went about my day and took the last two photos after 8 hours of wear.

As you can see in the last two photos of the wear test, the concealer had sunken into my creases. How much a concealer sinks into my creases depends on a lot of things like how the weather was and what I was doing that day. The humidity in Denmark is right now at 100% which is why the concealer will sink into my creases even more than it would do with a lower humidity. To show you my creases a bit more, I have included these two pictures. The one to the left with the good quality is taken right after I applied my eye makeup. As you can see, the concealer has not sunken into my creases here. The photo to the right is the one I talked about earlier in this review. I took the photo the day after my wear test to show you how the concealer looks after 4 hours of wear. None to less has sunken into my creases!

The concealer (*) is available in 25 shades! 25 SHADES! I own it in shade C0 and C1 as I am very fair. I like to apply the C1 in an upside down triangle under my eyes and then put a dot of C0 (pure white) under each eye and blend it out. It comes with a doe-foot applicator which picks up a lot of product. I really like the look of the component, it is very stylish and cute with the pink!

I have used this concealer for quite some time now, and it is, as they state, very lightweight while still being very full coverage! It did not settle into any fine lines, but it did sink into my creases over time which I did expect and I don’t mind. I also find it very long wearing as I think it looks pretty much the same if you take a look at my wear test again and look at the flash test and the photo below it which is the photo of the concealer after 8 hours of wear. The only difference is that the flash test photo is taken at daylight and the other at nighttime.

The concealer does have a matte finish which you will be able to confirm yourself by looking at the second photo at the top of my wear test. I have not used the concealer to cover any blemishes as I always use the Dermacol Make-Up Cover Foundation for that. But it really did cover my dark circles and even out my skin tone under my eyes. So the product does live up to all of the claims! Because of that, I will award the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer (*) 5 out of 5 possible hearts!

This concealer (*) makes me so happy! I love how it looks, how it feels, how it wears, and how inclusive it is! I mean, there is a shade for everyone! If you have not tried this concealer yet, then I think it is time you do! And it is only £4 so if you don’t end up liking it, it is not that big of a loss. But seriously, I think you will love it! Let me know if you have tried the concealer and how you like it! It could also be very helpful if you told us about your under eye skin, is it oily, dry, normal, mature? I would say my under eyes are pretty normal but tends to go dry if the weather is cold. Thank you so much for reading, I hope to see you back soon! xx
