The Ordinary Coverage Foundation (£5.90 for 30 mL) is a full-coverage foundation which is available in the same 21 shades as the Serum Foundation. The coverage foundation contains a higher level of pigments than the serum foundation but should still offer a smooth finish without the look of heavy makeup.
On their website they state that the foundation
– got a full-coverage formula
– offers a smooth finish without the look of heavy makeup even though it contains a higher level of pigments
– got a texture of a lightweight, non-oily cream
– the pigments are able to resist collecting within fine lines and stay on for longer because the pigments are suspended in their proprietary spreadability system
– offer a semi-matte finish
– are compatible with most primers and are designed to work exceptionally well with the primers from The Ordinary
– is alcohol-free, oil-free, nut-free, gluten-free, soy-free, cruelty-free, and vegan
I tend to go more for the more natural-looking foundations as I don’t like the way full-coverage foundation settles into fine lines. Before I tried the Coverage Foundation I was afraid that it would be another cakey mess. Luckily, it isn’t! I don’t think that the foundation is full-coverage by the first layer. Maybe more medium but it is definitely build-able to full-coverage! Every time I looked in the mirror when wearing the foundation I could not believe my own eyes! The foundation did not settle into any fine lines not even when I was about to remove my makeup at 1 in the morning! Just like the Serum Foundation, the Coverage Foundation got a semi-matte finish which – as said in my review of the Serum Foundation – is a big plus for me as I think it looks so pretty and natural on the skin. I have tried the foundation without a primer and with one of The Ordinary’s own (the High-Spreadability Fluid Primer) and I honestly did not see that big of a difference other than the foundation had a bit longer wear time with the primer. I don’t think the primer did anything to minimise any creasing as there wasn’t any when not using a primer.
Three of the shades (1.0NS, 1.2YG, and 2.0YG) does contain a silver (S) or golden (G) highlight just like the Serum Foundation which I again think would be nice if you want an even more natural and dewy look!
I can’t help but love this amazing foundation! I simply don’t understand how a full-coverage foundation can look so nice on the skin! I can definitely recommend this product which is why I award it 5 hearts out of 5 possible!
If you are looking for a beautiful, full-coverage foundation for a low price, then this is the thing for you! Have you tried the Coverage Foundation from The Ordinary? If you have, then let me know your opinion in the comments!
