Review: ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick

Review: ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick

The ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick (£4.5 for 3.2 g) are one of the finishes the brand ColourPop offers their liquid lipsticks in. They also offers satin mattes and a sheer matte finish which they call blotted matte. I own the Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shades Beeper, Bumble, Love Bug, and Thursday.

On their website they state that the liquid lipstick
have a thin, lightweight formula
 glides smoothly onto the lips
have a super intense pigment
leaves you with a ultra matte look
is very long-wearing and 100% kiss proof (no transferring)

I had heard that the Ultra Matte formula from ColourPop should be uncomfortable on the lips so I was both sad and scared to try them as I would love to find some cheap liquid lipstick I actually liked and I feel like there are a lot to chose from in the ColourPop range! But when I first tried one I was completely shocked! The formula was nothing I had expected at all! It is so easy to work with on the lips and none of the shades I own is streaky which really surprised me! When the liquid lipstick dries down it dries completely matte but is very comfortable on the lips! Maybe one of the most comfortable formulas I have ever tried! I did a wear test with the shade Beeper at my uncles 50th birthday party and it stayed on through all the meals and did not transfer onto my glass! I was so impressed! I wore it for more than 8 hours and nothing moved! Not even in the centre of the lips where the lipstick normally fades first. Everything was perfect and it kept staying comfortable all night!

One thing I find weird is that the applicator on the shade Thursday is not the same as the other three. I prefer the more fluffy applicator which is what the three other shades comes with. I feel like it picks up more product; I only needed two dips into the container with the other shades but three dips with Thursday. Why Thursday comes with a different applicator I don’t know. Another thing I noticed is that the shades dry down to darker shades than what they looks like in the container (especially Beeper) which I think is what to be expected from a matte formula.

The packaging is what to expect for £4.5. The container itself is very lightweight and the logo and information on the container wears of very easy.

I will award this liquid lipstick 5 out of 5 hearts!

I can’t believe I didn’t try them out sooner! I need to wear this formula a lot more and invest in a lot of shades! Have you tried the Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick from ColourPop Cosmetics? If you have, then let me know your opinion in the comments and tell me your favourite shade!
